A PIECE OF HISTORY

For a girly, I don't own a lot of jewellery, but what I do have is precious to me for a variety of reasons. Today I was given something very special. It's a gold-plated coil bangle with an engraved clasp. It was made for me by one of my closest friends in the world, and it would always have been special for that and that alone.

But John Reed made this bracelet for me from the original clutch line of his legendary gold Yamaha that he's currently restoring. That motorcycle is one of the reasons that I do the job I do today; to have a piece of jewellery made from that bike is awesome and priceless.

Thank you John Reed. I don't know what else to say.

NORTH CAROLINA '69

I've just ventured into the horrific warzone that is my desk drawer looking for a piece of ribbon for my piercings. Didn't find the ribbon, but did find an envelope that's got to have been in there for eight or nine years. Inside, a load of old 3" x 5" photos, written on the outside 'AMA Flattrack races, North Carolina State Fairground, September 1969'. Cheers, Brik - I'd forgotten all about these, and it's cheered the day.
